Located perfectly in the middle between the BIG city, Calgary and beautiful Banff! We are in the heart of the Kananaskis Valley, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Kananaskis Rocky Mountain Range in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies

  • Trips are suitable for novices to experienced riders
  • All Trail Rides and Adventures are led by trained and experienced guides
  • Trail rides are at a walking pace, allowing safe riding and an opportunity to enjoy the incredible country you travel through

RAFTING ONLY:

  • All raft trips are guided by certified and experienced staff.
  • Participants must be a minimum of 45 pounds or 20.5 kilograms
  • Five (5) years of age or older.
  • All proper safety equipment will be provided.

GROUP POLICY: 

  • For groups of 10 guests or more, please contact us directly for Reservations
  • There will be an 8% activity service charge applied
  • Ask us about group activities and meals and how we can customize a package for your visit

The Western Entertainment Centre open year round includes banquet facilities, meeting rooms and gift shop; seasonally we offer Trail Riding, Pack Trips and Caribou Cafe.

Approximate Driving Times from:

  • Banff = 50 minutes
  • Calgary (downtown) = one hour and 10 minutes
  • Canmore = 35 minutes
  • Cochrane = 55 minutes
  • Lake Louise = one hour and 25 minutes
  • Longview = one hour and 40 minutes
  • Okotoks:
  • two hours and 15 minutes via Longview
  • two hours and ten minutes via Priddis and Bragg Creek

TRAIL RIDES AND ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES 

    • Boundary Ranch operates year round, but trail riding and some activities operate seasonally.
    • The advertised length of each ride or adventure is approximate.
    • No previous experience required.
    • Children 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
    • A Waiver of Liability must be signed by each guest prior to participating in any Trail Ride or Adventure Activity.  Please request rafting or dogsledding waivers if required.
    • Minors 17 years of age and under must have their parent or legal guardian sign on their behalf.
    • All excursions are facilitated by experienced staff.

TRAIL RIDES ONLY:

    • All riders must be at least six (6) years old to participate.
    • All trail rides are kept at a walking pace for your comfort and safety.
    • One rider per horse.
    • We don’t recommend riding during pregnancy.
    • 225lbs maximum weight restriction.
    • Guests are welcome to bring small cameras or cell phones on trail rides; we strongly recommend they are secured with a wrist or neck strap.
    • Please note that for safety reasons items such as backpacks, purses, water bottles, bear spray or selfie sticks are not permitted on or near the horses.
    • Cell phones must be on silent as a safety precaution.
    • Helmets are not mandatory but recommended for all trail riders.

      • Boundary Ranch offers certified equestrian helmets for rent.
      • Bicycle helmets can be worn.

  • Advance Reservations are required to be made for all activities at Boundary Ranch
  • Some activity selections require a minimum number of participants; If you do not have enough people to book a minimum, please call us to see if we already have the adventure booked and you can join in

  • We accept Cash, Debit (Interac) and the following Credit Cards: AMEX, MasterCard and Visa
  • All prices are subject to 5% GST (General Sales Tax)
  • Gratuities (tips) are not included but customary in Canada. If you enjoy your ride or adventure, we greatly appreciate you tipping your guide or coordinator

CANCELLATION POLICIES:

Trail Rides, Surf and Saddle and Dog Sledding Adventures

  • are reserved and pre-paid in advance
  • non-refundable
  • If Boundary Ranch decides to cancel a ride, you will be offered a Rain Check or a full refund

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PREPARING FOR TRAIL RIDES:

  • Guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the ride
  • Guests must check-in with Boundary Ranch staff to complete waivers and receive a briefing before the ride departs
  • Guests arriving late and without adequate time for this important information, risk exclusion from the ride
    • Should you be running late or get lost
    • please call before you get on Highway 40 as there are sections without cell coverage
  • For personal comfort, check the weather forecast to be prepared
  • Riding Attire:
    • long pants, comfortable and ideally loose-fitting but not too baggy (no shorts or capri pants); Jeans are best
    • closed-toed shoes with a firm sole; ideally a boot with a small heel (not more than one inch)
      • (note that open-toed footwear, sandals, crocs, or high heels will not be permitted)
    • a sweater or light jacket
    • Hats (tight fitting – ball cap or cowboy); Protection from the sun, wind, cold, rain or snow
    • Gloves for holding reins properly
    • Scarf (recommended for early or late season rides)
    • Long underwear, may make your ride more comfortable for early spring and late fall rides
    • For your comfort, dress for the weather as rides depart rain, snow or shine
    • Boundary Ranch has rain ponchos for rent in case of inclement weather

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PREPARING FOR WHITE WATER RAFTING and SURF AND SADDLE:

  • If you are trail riding too, please refer to the above
  • Guests should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the trip
  • Guests must check-in with staff to complete waivers and receive a briefing before the trip departs
  • Guests arriving late and without adequate time for this important information risk exclusion from the activity
    • Should you be running late or get lost

  • White Water Rafting Attire:
    • bathing suit (or T-shirt and shorts)
    • towels
    • running shoes/sport sandals that can (and will) get wet
    • dry change of warm clothes
    • fleece jacket or sweater

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PREPARING FOR DOG SLEDDING:

  • Guests should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the trip
  • Guests must check-in with staff to complete waivers and receive a briefing before the trip departs.
  • Guests arriving late and without adequate time for this important information risk exclusion from the activity
    • Should you be running late or get lost
      • please call before you get on Highway 40 as there are sections without cell coverage
    • Dog Sledding Attire:
      • Winter outerwear; dress in layers (4-5 works well) so that you can adjust if you become hot or cold
        • ideally wool or synthetic material such as fleece, poly-pro, or gore-tex (cotton will not keep you warm)
        • Dog sledding is an activity that can get you sweating and keep you warm, even in winter temperatures
        • Keep in mind that in very cold temperatures it is more difficult to stay warm, and layers trap the heat close to your body
        • In more mild temperatures you will need layers to remove as you heat up; if you get too warm/sweaty, you will eventually get very cold
        • If you do not have winter clothing, please contact us and we will do our best to source attire for you
      • Mittens to keep your hands warm in temperatures from -1o C to -20o C
      • A good winter hat/toque, balaclavas and scarfs are good ideas too
        • especially if its windy and/or you have a low collar
      • Sunglasses or ski goggles (even on cloudy days)
      • Winter boots - ideally water resistant, lined, and with a rating for at least -20C
        • running shoes will not be permitted
      • Two pairs of socks, ideally wool or synthetic material such as poly-pro or gore-tex (cotton will not keep you warm)
      • Sun Block of at least SPF 30
      • Lip Balm
